Symbols and custom data

Star the symbols you use, and bring your own OHLCV or tick data.

Explore is where symbols are chosen, and where your own data comes in.

Three tabs#

  • Favorites — the symbols you starred
  • All assets — everything available on your plan
  • Custom data — datasets you uploaded

All assets filters by asset class: forex, stocks, crypto, commodities, indices, ETFs and bonds. Each tab shows its count, so it is obvious how much a plan makes available.

Symbols and favorites#

Clicking a row opens the chart. Starring a symbol puts it in Favorites, grouped by asset class, so the few you actually use are not a search every morning.

Recently opened charts are also remembered locally — that is device state, and it does not sync.

How much history and how many symbols you get depends on the plan: Free has 20 symbols and backtests to 2025; Pro and above have 800+ symbols and can backtest up to today.

Custom data#

Custom data imports your own history. Once imported it behaves like any other symbol: chart it, replay it, place simulated trades, run an AI backtest.

CSV / TSV / TXT are supported, for OHLCV or tick data. The per-file size limit and total capacity are stated on the page, not buried in documentation.

OHLCV needs a time column plus open, high, low and close:

datetime,open,high,low,close,volume
2024-01-02 09:30:00,100.24,100.61,100.11,100.55,184200
2024-01-02 09:31:00,100.55,100.72,100.48,100.63,92100

Tick data needs a time and a price — bid and ask columns work too:

time,price
2024-01-02 09:30:00.250,100.54
2024-01-02 09:30:00.600,100.56

Column names are case-insensitive, and separate date and time columns are understood. A wide file with no header is rejected, because there is no way to know which column is which.

Imported once, charted like any other symbol.

A dataset moves through three states:

  • Ready locally — chartable already, not yet on your account
  • Uploading / uploaded — on the account, available on any device
  • Upload failed — the row offers a retry

Capacity follows the plan (5 MB on Free, 1 GB on Pro, 5 GB on Max), and Storage used shows the current total against it. When it is full an upload fails rather than quietly replacing an older file.

Where data lives#

One sentence: once you are signed in, your work is on the account; the browser is a cache.

  • Conversations, strategies and versions, backtest sessions, runs, custom indicators, custom data → account
  • Chart colours, layout proportions, shortcuts, recent charts, custom timeframes, AI preferences → browser (device state)

The plan decides features and retention, not where data is stored. A free account's sessions are on the account too; the plan only limits how long history is listed.

Next#

The last chapter puts it together: what each plan includes, how credits are spent, and what changes when you upgrade or downgrade.
